Last night I watched The Good Wife

I wrote yesterday about my dear friend Georganna Lenssen and described the two of us as born bona fided cat ladies.
Then I watched the excellent new show The Good Wife starring Julianna Margulies. Her character, Alicia, was taken right out of recent headlines about politicians humiliating their wives. Six months later Alicia goes back to her pre-marriage career as a lawyer whose first case features a juror who would not convict the defendant in the case and the jury was deadlocked because the 'cat lady' thought the previous attorney in the case "did not talk like she was better." This cat lady character had cats on every surface in what looked like a tiny apartment.
Once again, being a cat lady seems to be someone people dismiss as a kook, sort of a 'crazy.' Point of fact, I myself have been gifted with the Crazy Cat Lady Action Figures twice. The action figures are unattractive, wild-eyed, kittens coming out of their pockets, disheveled hair wearing shabby looking clothes.
Wish someone would create a sexy good-looking Barbie type cat lady and portray us with more dignity. We're not wild-eyed kooks. We simply adore cats and feel compelled to care for them and make sure they are taken of because we are compassionate humans. Maybe I identify with their fierceness too.
