The Boulder
In 2008, many Americans and I pushed a boulder up a steep mountain from a valley to accomplish something that most of us didn’t think we would live to see in our lifetime; the election of a black man to the highest elected office in this Nation, President of the United States.
We thought the country had reached a milestone in race relations with the election, and while we all rejoiced, a small group of Americans who couldn’t accept change, started to push the boulder back down the mountain.
It started with the hateful words spewed by the right wing media following President Obama’s election, such as Rush Limbaugh saying “I hope he fails“. Read entire article.
