Reform, if it happens, will rest on four main pillars: regulation, mandates, subsidies and competition.
By regulation I mean the nationwide imposition of rules that would prevent insurance companies from denying coverage based on your medical history, or dropping your coverage when you get sick. Why can't we just have Medicare for all? It's the best insurance we've ever had. Why continue to engorge the For Profit Health Insurance companies. They made ENOUGH money. Time for them to go into the sunset. You might want to sell your HC stocks now.
