Detoxing from Lyme disease has left me limp as a dishrag

I've barely posted these last few weeks because as I am very weak from the medical detoxification program but it seems to be working as I am beginning to feel better and have a lot less pain. I've had to give up daily treats like coffee and wine but it seems to be worth it. I quit drinking once for twenty-six years and decided to start again when the Supremes awarded George Bush the Presidency in 2000. I guess now that Barack Obama is our President I have no excuse to drink anymore. I read an article about low tech fixes for high tech problems and one of them was to clean DVD's and CD's with vodka, because vodka is a solvent. Jeepers, my first drink back was a Cosmopolitan which promptly became my favorite drink. My daughter found a blog about Lyme Disease which is listed on the right side under Blogs and Sites. I read that sugar feeds the bug in Lyme and since alcohol is fermented sugar no wonder I was feeling worse even though I was on Doxycycline for three months previously. I was drinking wine to relieve the pain in my legs. Plus I was drinking coffee about 15 minutes after taking the Doxycycline - you are supposed to wait one hour before consuming anything. My detox excludes coffee/caffeine, sugar/alcohol, dairy, soy (which I live on) gluten and all processed foods. One is also supposed to exercise vigorously which is a joke. I can barely go food shopping. Anyway, I feel like I am on the way to recovery finally but my doctor says I will be on Doxycycline another four months at least. I plan to continue to stick to the restrictions as long as possible. Their will be the additional expense of constantly giving my six cats flea and tick medication monthly so that I don't get reinfected.
