Haven't posted for the last few days as I have a huge garden and I am the chief and only gardner here at Bonnieview. I had to wait for the weather to warm up as it was bone-chilling outside. In the past I have had the cleanup done by my landscapers but this year I want to do the work myself to save moolah. I am out there cutting down last years's growth of my perennials, pruning wisteria, trumpet vine and pulling up ivy that wants to overtake the fence. I have many ornamental grasses that need chopping down too. Of course, there is no way I can mulch the huge beds myself. Any day that is warm I'll be out there enjoying the lilacs, magnolias trees and forsythia while I transplant the crepe myrtles which I made the mistake of planting too close to the garage. I also have plants in pots I never got around to planting last fall. Every year I tell myself I want my garden to be its' most beautiful.
Soon it will be Garden Party time.
